Teach with Annalise

From the time I was little, all I ever wanted was to be a teacher. I would spend hours playing ‘schools’—taking the roll, making timetables, even staging pretend parent phone calls during “lunch break.” I dreamed of becoming my own version of Miss Honey from Matilda—a kind, patient, and supportive teacher who made learning a joy.

My love for teaching wasn’t just a childhood dream; it was instilled in me by my mum. She believed fiercely that every student, no matter their abilities or challenges, deserved to be believed in and given the opportunity to succeed. That belief shaped my entire teaching philosophy.

Growing up on an organic farm in South East Queensland, I learned the value of patience, resilience, and nurturing growth—whether in plants, animals, or people. After university, I took on teaching roles across North Queensland, working in schools big and small, rural and urban. It was there that I truly found my passion: helping students who struggle and supporting teachers in meeting the diverse needs of their classrooms.

But if I’m being honest, teaching wasn’t always easy. There were days I felt completely overwhelmed—drowning in lesson planning, student needs, behaviour challenges, and the pressure to do it all. I remember spending hours modifying lessons for students who were years behind, only to feel like I was still falling short. I struggled with the guilt of not doing enough, of not reaching every student the way I wanted to. And I know I’m not the only teacher who has felt this way.

That’s why I created Teach with Annalise—to help teachers like you feel confident, prepared, and supported. Because you can make a difference in every student’s learning journey, and you don’t have to figure it all out alone.

Here, you’ll find:
✔️ Practical, engaging resources designed to support ALL learners, especially those who struggle.
✔️ Real-world teaching strategies that make maths more accessible and engaging.
✔️ Honest, supportive advice from someone who’s been there—because teaching is tough, and you shouldn’t have to do it alone.

While my favourite role now is being a mum to my two beautiful children, I’ll always be a teacher at heart. And I’m so glad you’re here—I can’t wait to support you on your teaching journey!
