From my earliest memories, all I ever wanted was to be a teacher! I would spend hours playing ‘schools’ with class rolls, timetables, and work booklets. During ‘lunch time,’ I would even make pretend parent phone calls.
Envisioning myself as a Miss Honey, I eagerly looked forward to having my own class filled with eager little Vegemites.
Even though Miss Honey was my muse, it is 100% thanks to my mum for instilling my passion for teaching and learning, she fervently believed that every student, regardless of ability or disability, deserves the opportunity to learn and be believed in.
Growing up on an Organic Farm in South East Queensland laid the foundation for my nurturing nature. After university, I embarked on my career in North Queensland, where I thrived in different school settings, both big and small, rural and urban. It was during this time that I discovered my true passion for working with students with special needs and supporting mainstream teachers in accommodating diverse student needs.
While my favourite “job” now is being a Mummy to my two beautiful children, I can’t help but still embrace my inner teacher. In 2022, I embarked on my teacher author journey, finding immense joy in creating resources for teachers that support ALL students.
I am delighted to have you here and I look forward to supporting you on your teaching path. As teachers, we are forever learning and growing alongside our students.
